Bought this rack for my Dodge Dakota. I wanted to be able to drop or remove the cross bars when I'm not using it. Raising and lowering the bars is easy for one person.
The install was easy and did not take long. Quality workmanship which always impresses my mechanics when I have my truck serviced.
I use my rack for my canoe. But it can be used to carry many things. I can also use the posts to tie things to.
When my canoe is strapped to this there is no movement. I left the bases on over the winter and there is no rust. Still looks great!

I'm totally happy with this purchase.

I installed the rack in about an hour and a half, using a 17mm socket and wrench. I didn't use the conversion kit, because I lacked the rail bed system.

The construction on the 422XT is tough. Nothing wimpy about this setup.

My one worry was that the racks wouldn't clear my roof, but they did with ease.

Overall I was happy with this purchase. It took longer then expected to install since the 2007 F-150 I was installing it on didn't make it easy
I had bed liner that had to be cut and the the top rail bed cover from the manufacturer didn't like being compressed and deformed a little
but everything worked out ok. The rubber insert that us used in the top channel was useless and came off while driving so I took them all off.
I didnt have a need for the locks so they werent installed.
