i bought 3 just to try them out. i was reluctant, because i believe you get what you pay for. but sometimes there is an exception. 2 of the batteries will not hold a charge more than a couple of days and the life is not even close to the sony brand. i have to recharge the batteries right before i use them and only keep them as a spare. as for the third it will charge but the battery is not recognized by the camera. an experiment, but never again.
would not let me give it zero stars.

I bought this item a few weeks back. They seem to work just fine, however when plugged into the charger the charging light never goes off! With the camera's original battery the light turns green, this one just acts like it keeps charging.

not sure if that's a problem, the batteries seem to work just fine.

Thank you other reviewers!!! I said to myself, I said, I can't get this thing to work. I'm going out on Amz to find out what the other reviewers recommended, because I bet they've ironed out the bugs. You sure did. All I had to do was give the little jack and extra push in really tight, and the download to Street Atlas went like a charm.

BTW, I bought the Iogear USB to Serial interface cable on Amz. I have Windows Vista, so I got the .zip file Iogear provides. It has all Windows drivers. The Vista drivers worked great. Nice of Iogear to support all the Windows versions in one handy download. Wish I could say the same for Kingston flash drives, but I digress.

Anyway, I am beginning to find that these reviews of technical products on Amazon are more helpful than the manufacturers' websites. This is especially true of Garmin.

Thanks again, everybody. Sure is fun when something works. I'm enjoying this Foretrex 101.

The ink cartridge fit perfectly in my HP Deskjet 5150 and the print quality is just fine. NOTE! Initially I did receive an error message from the computer stating "an error was detected; remove and replace cartridge". It was necessary to clean the contacts on the back of the cartridge with a clean pencil eraser. Problem solved, however this procedure was not included in the instructions.

I just do everyday printing and the great savings is much appreciated. If there is a difference in ink quality (compared to original HP cartridge, I cannot tell.

The black ink cartridge works but print quality is not good. Color cartridge was packed without tape over the print head and leaking, and the printer does not even recognize it as a compatible cartridge.

In an attempt to keep the bedroom nice and cool, we just installed a window AC unit, you know the cheap bargain basement kind that wreck havoc on your AC quality. Having a plasma TV on the same circuit, which is a bit finicky in regards to electric quality, this seemed to be a sound investment. Plus it would act as a surge protector for the air conditioner.

I didn't want a bulky strip, but I knew I needed solid EMI/RFI filtering, so this was a natural fit. The unit is as big and ugly as you could imagine, and unlike what I would have expected, it connects to one wall (not both) outlet and hangs below that one (leaving the other free, but unfiltered). A bracket and screws holds it in place (and would be needed for all but the tightest new sockets). Other than that, setup is a breeze. A few LEDs keep you in the loop as far as what's going on.

I immediately noticed a crisper picture and less jitter when the compressor kicks in.

Allow me to introduce myself, I am a Full-Time Public Safety Officer and a Part-Time Private Eye. For YEARS I have been after the elusive compact-mini perma-focus pair of binoculars at a small price. I've literally tried and bought DOZENS of binoculars that I wanted to use, day or night, that will fit in my coat or pants pocket, that I don't need to spend an annoying amount of time focusing or Money buying, Unfortunately, I have never found one pair worth keeping, but thats all changed now. I am please to report I have FINALLY found a "keeper" pair of binoculars in the Hammers Mini Compact Perma Focus Brand. When I first put them up to my eyes I was BLOWN AWAY on the clarity of focus, at any object, at any distance, all without doing a damn thing except looking through them. My Father brought back a perfect pair of fine huge German Dienstglas Artillery Binoculars from WW2 (worth about 650.00 now) and as I kid I would spend HOURS looking through them, marvelling at how i never really had to focus them, they just stayed focused for any object at any distance. All the other binoculars I've EVER owned would NEVER even come close to comparing with that pair (which at 93 years old he still has and uses BTW) throughout my life I have searched and searched for a compact pair of Binoc's that compare to those Fine old German Binoculars, and I am here to tell you these are the best anyone will get for the price. If you are a Hunter, Police Officer, Investigator, Security Officer, in the Military, or just a plain old Gumshoe Private Detective like me, you will just be FLOORED at how these little binoc's perform and at the price a guy with a Thin wallet (VERY THIN) like me can afford. I'm buying Two or Three more pair ASAP (one for a spare and and couple for Christmas presents. All I have to say is : Try 'em and you'll LOVE 'em too!

After not wanting to fork over $70 for the Mighty Mouse, I decided to do some research on affordable Bluetooth mice that would ultimately perform the most basic of tasks. I read more than a few complaints on Targus' AMB08US and its optical scroller and decided to take a chance on this one. I have a 15"MBP and really didn't feel the need to integrate the amazing trackpad features over to a mouse. Works like a charm, looks great against my Mac and spent almost half of what I would've on the Mighty Mouse.

I worked my Kensington SlimBlade Trackball Mouse with Bluetooth Wireless (Graphite) K72281US to death not long ago. After a couple of years of good service it bit the dust. No cleaning could seem to revive it. For awhile after that, I used the bluetooth Mighty Mouse that came with my iMac in 2008 and which I had really disliked at first acquaintance, so much that I shelved it and got the Kensington instead.

I got used to the Mighty Mouse, but it wasn't so mighty. Its trackball has quit working.

As much as I like the convenience of a bluetooth mouse, I don't want to pay Apple prices for one.

I found this mouse at amazon, and the price was right. It was a snap to set up with my iMac, and has maintained its connection even when the computer wakes from sleep mode. I had to adjust the tracking speed downward (System Preferences --> Mouse) but once I did, its performance is just fine.

Although it's fun to have the trackball ability built into a mouse (as with the Kensington mentioned above and the Apple Mighty Mouse), the extra cost isn't worth it to me, especially when that little trackball seems to have a short life expectancy.

I don't know yet about the durability of this Bluetooth mouse, but its performance upfront has been flawless.

EDITED to add: I have to co-sign on the other reviews that mentioned the smooth operation of the scroll wheel on this mouse. It's excellent.

The top half of the mouse is shiny plastic, not a bad thing. But the real great piece, the rubber ribs along the bottom - those make this mouse one of the most comfortable I have ever used.

Bluetooth for the price of a 2.8GHz wireless mouse, wonderful. The mouse works equally well with PC or Macintosh. It paired instantly with my MacBook Pro running Lion. There was absolutely no need to adjust anything, the mouse worked perfectly on the first connect. No need for any drivers.

I've used a blue Logitech Bluetooth mouse for about three years now. It's nice, it works well, and I thought it was the best thing going. Until, darn it, I tried this mouse. Perfect fit in my hand, the silent scroll wheel, perfect pairing, the battery meter on the base, and those delightful rubber ribs along the sides make for a nearly perfect mouse.

There's only one weird thing about this mouse, there is this goofy plastic bar that holds down the batteries inside the mouse. Thank goodness the batteries last for almost forever so I don't have to deal with that silly piece.

I can hardly imagine a light weight laptop mouse being better than this.

Cel and Anna is a delightful science fiction novel. The premise is George Orwell-esque from his novel 1984 where "big brother" is watching everything you do - without the overwhelming darkness.

The synopsis tells you everything you need to know about this book. It starts off a little slow for me, but the pace picks up and then continues at a good clip. The concept of a computer falling in love with a woman is pretty unique; thus, enjoyable to read about.

The characters were well-written, even Cel, the computer! I found the most change in Anna as the story began, she was rather shy and didn't interact with live people very much. Through the story she grew and changed until she was very comfortable around people and capable of making friends.

Cel and Anna is a breath of fresh air in the science fiction genre. It flows smoothly and reads fairly quickly. It's definitely worth your time!

You are about to enter the Middle Machine Age, where good citizens of the Reunited States are either Outsiders or denizens of the UnderWorld. Things are in uneasy balance, like a fantastic house of cards that grows ever taller.

A computer named Cel develops consciousness and falls in love with his owner, a troubled employee of Lighthorse Magic, Inc, named Anna Ringer. He is a worker-companion computer devoted by design to one person, so falling in love with Anna is logical. It is the last logical thing Cel does.

Cel doesn't MEAN to stir up the worst datastorm in Reunited States history. He doesn't MEAN to get Anna falsely accused of terrorism.

Anna eventually has to run for her life, pursued by agents of Public Eye, the government's amoral enforcement agency. Her companion in this adventure is a shy computer genius named Taz Night, who finds Cel to be an annoying rival.

Author's note: I am neither a computer scientist nor a futurist. I am a person with a good imagination who remembers the first great computer revolution of the early 1990s, when the world was about to change forever and everyone knew it. Although I have owned Macs since 1988, there is no logical connection between that fact and the creation of Cel.

This product works exactly as described. I repaired a 1967 Honda S90 Fuel Tank with this product and it removed the rust and sealed it very well. All of the rust was not removed, but they were clear in the instructions that this was not necessary. The key is not to rush the project and follow the instructions exactly. If I were to do it again, I would spend a little more time on the rust removal step since I only repeated it 2X. Good product that I would recommend to anyone.

I really didn't have a problem with the decal sticking. But a couple of times, I moved the decal around, so the 3m spray helped to re-stick it. I purchased several of the Marvel Super Hero Roommate wall decals (Hulk, Spiderman, Iron Man & Wolverine)on Amazon for my five year old son's bedroom. They're all quality. I asked my son which one was his favorite for the purpose of this review and he said, "all of them!" LOL. If I had to choose just one though, it would definitely be this one. The pose on this one is nice and although it comes in several pieces it all fits together perfectly.

My only negative with this particular wall decal is the size. Not even close to life size but for the price I can't complain. When it comes to price, you can generally purchase 3-4 Roommate decals for every one Fathead. As someone who's purchased from both companies, these are on par with the quality of Fatheads but these are more work because they come in several pieces. It didn't bother me though, I enjoyed putting them together. Also worth noting is that the Roommates decals are usually slightly smaller than Fathead but considering Roommates are much cheaper, that makes them the better value in my opinion. I wish they made more of these Marvel wall decals actually, I wouldn't mind picking up a Captain America or a Juggernaut, among many others LOL.

At this price point, the Hulk is absolute bargain. These Marvel wall decals absolutely transformed my son's room. We've got quite a few compliments from young and old alike. Highly recommend it!

Not a very good lame. Maybe I am using it wrong but I followed the advice I found from another reviewer (might have been a review of another lame) and used a split popsicle stick (fresh out of a box of 1000 - not a "used" one, yuuch) and inserted it through the large hole of a double edge blade. That technique worked (and works) great. Puts good tension on the cutting edge and helps to prevent any pulling on the dough which will create wrinkles in the dough. Not very pleasing! I also tried replacing the blade, not very easy, to see if maybe the one that came in the lame was defective - same result.

Save the small pittance for this product and buy a case of popsicle sticks along with a case of the double edge blades. I have started doing this with the last batch of loaves and attained nice clean cuts - NO WRINKLES!!

While the unit may or may not be "universal", it was easy to attach to my charbroil grill.
As you may have read with others, the first motor would quit after about an hour. Second motor (same type) failed after about 1/2 hour. Third motor (different type, plastic instead of all metal) was great. Tested all different types of food and ended up cooking a 13 lb turkey, with stuffing. It turned for over four hours and was most excellent. While it took some hassle and some time, they finally made it right. I was out $6.45 extra for shipping/

I received this as a gift and have used it about four times so far. It was OK to install, but interestingly enough the brackets don't fit my Thermos grill all that well. Surprising since both the grill and rotisserie are made by Charbroil.

The motor mount won't adjust quite enough to allow the spit to turn without hitting the lid of the grill. I compensated by slightly propping the lid open ~1\4". You may have to remove the grills themselves to allow the food to turn freely.

I was able to cook two chickens at the same time without much difficulty, but it would be nice if you could buy a second set of prongs to better hold multiple pieces. Overall, for the money, it's a great tool and the resulting food turned out delicious everytime.

{knock on wood} It's done a great job of holding my phone, even when "dog walk" turns into "dog run." No noticeable scuffs to the phone from the holster (but I'm so rough I'd hardly notice from my other dings).

I've had other holsters (Seido and BoxWave) holsters for other phones (Palm Treo and Pre) and have snapped off several clips, mostly with the phone out of the holster. So far, so good, with this one as the clip is quite robust and is a pivot/spring type, not just flexing molded plastic.

One caution: take care that your clothing isn't caught between the phone and the holster, as my only "close calls" have been after putting the phone in the holster while sitting and the cloth pulling out as I stand.

That aside, this is a well-designed and well-built holster. I occasionally get a bit paranoid about my phone popping out, but this holster has not failed even after five months of active daily use.

After pouring over reviews I decided on this unit for it's size and brand. I previously owned a Vicks (Kaz) brand which worked for a while but started leaking and suffered from excessive hard water build up. Here are the pros and cons of this unit.

Pros
1.) Heater units sits on top and is immersed into the water. The result is there is much less build up on the heater itself. It all falls into the resavoir where it is easily cleaned. This alone is a selling point over other brands.
2.) Large tank, this unit will run the full ten hours on high.
3.) Hydrometer to set desired humidity (see Cons no.2)

Cons
1.) Some noise, although to be fair this is typical for all warm mist humidifiers because they boil water. For me it's soothing except for the ocasional water cooler like 'glub'. If your a very particular sleeper who can't tolerate any noise then stay away from all warm mist humidifiers. to be honest though this is actually kinda soothing.
2.) The heater comes with a 'hydrometer' which should allow you to set the humidity level which you would like to keep the room at. This is a very cool feature if it worked. In my case it never changes (tested it a steamed out bathroom). I'm in the process of contacting Holmes for a replacement I will update on how this goes.

Overall I would buy this unit again, even if the hydrometer didnt' work. However I'm a little miffed at this point.

UPDATE:
Contacted holmes and explained the product fault (told them I tested in a steamed out shower and the humidistat didn't work. They were actually very prompt in sending out a new unit, however they sent out a HM5305 which I guess must be the upgraded version as this one isn't even in stock anymore. Long story short it works well with the humidistat I can set it and it will go on and off as needed. Other than that I give Holmes and this unit high marks.

Having moved to New England just a few years ago, I am still adjusting to the dry winters. We struggled through the first two years but this past winter had record snowfall for our city, and the air was obnoxiously dry. I was getting up every night to drink some water, was still terribly thirsty in the morning, and even started getting nosebleeds after being outside. At that point, I started looking into an affordable humidifier and found this little gem. I was initially worried that it might not be big enough but, upon arrival, saw this was not the case. Because my husband and I both work, we only run this at night, setting it off at about 5-6pm, and letting it run until about 8am. It works like a charm! Very easy to set up, use, and clean. I have NOT been running the small tray through the dishwasher; only treating it to the same diluted vinegar solution that I am using on the other parts. I do, however, follow their disinfecting suggestions once a week. Being totally honest, I don't clean this after every use and (so far) this has not caused problems. There is some discoloration to the white plastic but nothing major and only in the internal mechanism.

We live in a relatively small apartment with an odd layout so this only really keeps our bedroom nice and moist. You would definitely need one per large room unless you have an open floor plan but just popping this is in the bedroom (or living room) should give the most benefit. Cranking it up to the high setting is also great when you have a cold or congested chest!

Now, I can't believe I waited so long to get one!

The product arrived as scheduled so pleased with seller. My husband and I used it one week during our visit to our son's house (guest room is in his basement next to the furnace room). The humidifier definitely helped at night as our throats and noses could attest the next morning. Although the machine was fairly quiet, I'm a light sleeper and kept noticing a "pop pop pop" sound--almost as though someone was popping popcorn.

The tank was clear and held enough water for several night's use. A little awkward to fill because the top isn't flat but not a big problem. I do believe the "warm mist" did make the room feel warmer. One complaint is that there are no markings on the humidity level dial (just lines). Have to guess where to set.

My 2-year grandson now uses the humidifier in his bedroom (second floor). Definitely helps with his congestion as he frequently has colds and stopped up nose.

Humidifier given a 4-star rating due to popping noise (I'm sensitive) and lack of markings on humidity level dial. Would recommend based on features and attractive price.

I don't need to use a food mill very often, but for things that require a fine texture without being squashed, this is a great product. In particular, I really like using this food mill for making mashed potatoes. A potato masher squashes the cells of the potato and can make your mashed potatoes gluey. The food mill is much easier to use than a ricer, and the potatoes come out truly light and fluffy. The year I used this to make the mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, it was the only dish that we ran out of. The food mill is also great for straining raspberry purée and making perfectly smooth tomato sauces.

Although I love this food mill, I have to admit that at this price it's a luxury. If you make a lot of sauces, it's probably worth the money. It comes with three discs of varying sizes and while it takes awhile to get the hang of it, once you do it's very easy to use and easy to clean. Since it is costly, however, and takes up a lot of storage space, it isn't worth it if all you're going to make are mashed potatoes. In that case, get yourself a ricer or stick to making smashed potatoes, because while the texture of foods processed in a ricer is incomparable, it just isn't worth it unless you're a serious cook with money and space to spare. If you decide to get a ricer, however, this is the one to get as it's easy to use and clean. I know some people have had issues with durability, but I haven't found it to be a problem.

I bought this food mill as an upgrade from my ancient aluminum Foley because it got the top rating from Cook's Illustrated magazine. Like several other reviewers, I find that the knob falls off the handle after just a couple of turns, rendering the device practically useless. I have emailed the manufacturer which claims to have 25-year warranties on their products. We'll see what they say. But for a product that costs this much -- now even more expensive than when I bought it -- it should work flawlessly.

Never did business with (or heard of) Cooper Moon before this order. I was mousing around Amazon and found a very good deal (sale/mark down) on a 5 lb lot of freshly roasted coffee beans (Panama Boquete) -- which is why I was motivated to take a chance on an unknown (to me) company. Since they advertise and sell product on Amazon, it wasn't the same (again, to my way of thinking) as going on eBay and buying product from an unknown vendor (I do that too, but that's another story). Plus free shipping. I no longer order coffee from anybody that charges me the full rate for shipping! It has to be a low flat rate or free shipping! My wife and I are hearty coffee drinkers (it is our beverage of choice) and although I buy at least 5 lbs at a time we probably order 10-20 times per year (according to my shipping history with various vendors). If you multiply that by $10.00 up to $15.00 (UPS) depending on the size of the shipment, the coin you save can surely buy either something else, or more coffee!

Anyway, I ordered, and 6 days later beans were delivered by UPS. Everything was in great shape. The bags had proper ventilation (small gas vent near upper middle of coffee bag). Since Amazon shipped it, the coffee bags were well packed with box filler adding extra padding to the beans. When I opened up the bags the smell of fresh roast coffee was wonderful. Store bought cans or bags smell okay when you open them for the first time, but freshly roasted coffee perfumes the entire kitchen with an aroma of spice, berries and the smoke characteristics of the roaster that did the cooking and the varietal (type) of coffee bean purchased. In this case the PB beans had a city roast and they had a light citrus tang that really lends to the flavor of the coffee.

Of course the proof of good coffee is in the tasting. I made a pot. Poured a cup. (slurp!). Great stuff. Panama Boquete is a hearty coffee with complex flavors (berries, earth, a little chocolate and citrus) and a deep, smooth finish.

I have nothing critical to say. I got a great deal with free shipping; beans arrived in the alloted window of time and were freshly roasted. Copper Moon and Amazon get a top score.

Every 5lb bag of whole beans I've bought off of amazon has been tasty and worthy of 5 stars (even outside of subjective preference, they are GOOD coffees, if maybe roasted too dark or too light for my tastes, etc). This product defied that standard. The beans were dry and dusty. Many of them were broken into smaller pieces already, and the coffee brewed is distinctively "bad." I suspect that my 5lb bag may have been old stock, but it was a huge dissapointment. I soldiered through the last cup today and felt compelled to prevent others from making the same mistake I did. Go with something else.

At least one third of beans are broken or misshapen, Grinds up pale, dusty and dry. No character, even with French Press preparation. I will not buy again. Try Coffee Bean Direct Panama Boquete, Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag for a few more dollars. If the Boquete is too much dough, try their Poor Man's Blend. I have bought both several times. Superior beans, carefully sorted for uniformity, and nicely-roasted.

I bought two sets of these chairs to go with a dining room table I purchased (from the same seller). The chairs arrived very well packaged to prevent damage and are absolutely beautiful. I put all 4 chairs together in about 35 minutes with just an Allen wrench (included) and an electric screwdriver. They were easy to assemble, are sturdy, and look FAR more expensive then they really were! The wood finish is beautiful and they feel very durable. I only wish the table was bigger so I could fit more chairs around it!

I've seen this kind of lamp advertised on office supplies online stores and they go anywhere from 2x to 3x the price of this lamp. This makes the lamp a good deal for this particular type. I've found cheaper lamps for about $20, but the arm on those cheapos doesn't stay in its intended position and the knobs don't do anything. The build on this lamp appears to be of good quality. Almost all parts are made of steel or some other metal. I was going to purchase this off of amazon, but I found out that there is a Lamps Plus store near where I live so I went there in person to check it out. The arm on the display model worked rather well and so does the one I have now. The main downside I've seen so far is that you can only get this in white. One last thing is that the one I purchased included both the circular fluorescent and incadescent bulbs.

About 10 years ago I got a lamp similar to this one for my wife (which she still uses every day), and since we're both very pleased with it, I figured it would be a good choice for our 11 y/o daughter as well. I shopped around at the mainstream "office supply" stores and just wasn't impressed. It seems as though those places have gone down-market; most of the desk lamps they now sell are either "gimmicky" and/or don't seem to be very good quality. I wanted to buy something that put out plenty of light and would last more than just a few years, and I was willing to pay a little more. This one is a different brand as my wife's but is almost an exact copy; the overall quality isn't quite as good, but I'm still giving it 5 stars because I think it's currently the best lamp of its kind under $100. It also comes with a pretty good clamp, which is something many of the others in this price range don't do. Summary: If you're looking for good value in a desk lamp that's truly versatile AND gives you the options of both florescent and incandescent lighting, this is probably your best choice.

The Camp Chef SPG-90B has been a perfect choice for a camp stove and the BBQ box makes a good combination on top of this 3-burner stove. It is much sturdier than it looks in photos. It sets up in 2 minutes, and really IS portable despite having 3 burners. We wanted to look at one in person, but couldn't find a retailer anywhere in the area so we took a chance on buying this on the internet. Delivery was FAST! However, the photo on the internet shows a rack underneath and the description clearly says that it comes with a rack underneath. FYI - It doesn't. You have to buy one separately and it's $20-$30 from other sources. We do not regret this purchase though.

The box stick on order label says F517 which is the fan I ordered and has blades that are 54 inches in diameter. Printing on the manufacturers box says F516 which is 44 inches, not what I ordered or wanted. When I got the shipment, I checked the stick on label to make sure I got the right product. Manufacturers printing is light grey and does not stand out. I had an electrician install the fan and that is when I first noticed the size discrepancy. I called Amazon customer support and all she could do is offer to let me return it. I was not happy with that because I already paid an electrician to install it. The only resolution she could offer was to give me $50 credit on my next purchase. I did appreciate that because it was her only other alternative she had to try to appease me. I did go on line to see if I could just buy the blades from another source since the motor housing for both fans is the same. My fan is white and the only 54 inch blades I could find was brown. That just will not work. Consequently, I am not a happy camper. Since this product was purchased through Amazon, I expected that they would contact the manufacturer on my behalf to get me the right blades. I asked the customer service representative to do this, But she said she could not. I do buy a great deal through Amazon, and this experience makes me wonder if I should be buying directly from the manufacture since I have to deal with them anyways if there are any problems. I am not happy!!!. Although the product itself is great, I really have to consider that it was not what I ordered. If it were the right sized blades I would have rated this product five star. If you do order this product, make sure you actually check the paste on order label with the manufacturers box printing.

I like WeatherTech products, so when I saw this one, I decided to buy it, and stop searching all the other choices. I like the WeatherTech Company, and they have a REP for perfect products!

After a trip from Ohio to South Florida and back, I felt I knew enough about it to review it and give some general info. So this is based on ONE long trip in the rain... (I am a retired truck driver, so have some knowledge in this area)

First, it's well made, it has it's own storage bag that yes, it really will fit back into!

Got the usual great Amazon service! Fast delivery, no damage, and lowest price I could find!

Soft or Hard - which to choose?
Here's my thinking on the subject: Hard is better, but much more expensive, and takes much more room to store when not in use. Since this is not an item I will use more than 2-3 times per year, cost and storage are big factors to me. If I were to use it more often, then a hard Carrier would do the job much better.

OK - Soft, now why this one?
As I said at the top, I like the Company, and knew the product would be of great quality. I was right, heavy material, double seams everywhere, strong zipper, great attachment system!

A few things I learned during the study and search for this; if your roof rack has cross rails - you need to measure the space between them, or make sure they can be removed - if not, you will have to go to a hard Carrier! Because this is some 30+ inches long, you want this to sit on the roof itself, NOT on any cross-rails! On my 06 Tucson, there is only 21' between the rails, and it was a chore to remove them (on my Tucson, the cross-rails are meant to not be moved, and they had some extra parts built up around the rails that had to be removed first). So scope all this out first regardless of which soft Carrier you buy!

I do not believe that any brand of soft Carrier would be truly water-proof, so get past that, and plan for some dampness - that was my thinking! The racksack uses a "rubber-backed" type material (PVC, etc), but water *could* come in through the seams, or around the zipper. So, I simply used garbage bags around what we were worried about.

The straps can be used on the front and back, or on the sides - since I had removed my cross rails, I could only attach on the sides. YES, it's a pain to load - I am 6' tall - but not tall enough - so a ladder, or stand on the door edge in the open door, or, load on the ground and heave it onto the roof---not an easy way to do it. And NO, it must be unloaded at night for those of you on long trips as there is no way to lock it, another reason for a[...] hard shell lockable Carrier - But, I knew this when I bought it, just bringing up "gotcha's" that others may not have thought of.

Anyhow, the straps work very well! The buckles hold well, and I felt no need for any extra straps (hindsight proved me correct as well) - remember, loose strap ends will do damage if they flap going down the road! The racksack uses this neat velcro way of rolling the end, and self-tying the ends so they do not flap. If not, or if it does not work for you, simply tuck the ends under the bag - just make sure they do not flap.

Gas mileage will go down when at speed. If loaded properly, there is not much extra noise, but at freeway speeds, a drop in MPG is a real possibility - regardless of which bag/Carrier you get.

On my small SUV (Tucson) driving at 65-70 on the cruise control I normally get 22-23MPG, the best I did with the bag was 19.8MPG - so in my case, the drop was rather considerable! This is more a issue of the vehical than the type of bag used. On my car, I would get roughly the same drop regardless of which Carrier bought (the exception might be some of the streamlined hard Carriers).

To sum it up, I like the product, it worked well for me, and the luxury of being able to bring items on the car trip that I could not have taken without the bag was a good trade-off for the loading hassles and the lower MPG - so, this is both a review and recomendation of the 'Racksack' - and a how-to in general for roof top carriers.

If you'd like more info on the Racksack, Google the Company name and go to their website - lots of images and info on the product. Very good product for the price - was roughly 50% cheaper at Amazon too!

I purchased this for my SUV for an 8 hour trip at Xmas. The extra space was wonderful. We traveled in 6 degree weather and the bag did not split or crack. It was easy to install. The zippers were smooth to close and the straps held the bag very secure to the roof rack.
I decided to purchase this particular carrier based on the reviews from Amazon customers, and the price was a good deal. I do not have the space for a hard sided carrier. This folds up nice and stores in a drawstring bag!This is the first review I have posted on a purchased product, I highly recommend it.

I am 7 months pregnant and began feeling the effects of sleep deprivation about this time. I had been using about 8 different pillows to try to get comfortable at night but with all the tossing and turning you do when you're getting bigger, the pillows would scatter everywhere! It became an issue because I just could never get comfortable.
My husband is a "researcher" and spent hours looking at every pregger pillow out there, pouring over the reviews...he finally recommended this pillow but I hesitated because of the price point. He always wants to get "the best" whatever the cost. Well, he recently surprised me with the pillow and I have never slept better!
It is great because you sort of just sink into it and it supports your entire body. Also, it keeps you from rolling onto your back (which most doctors recommend) and provides just right amount of pillow cushion-not too full at all. The thread count on the pillow case is also nice and provides a nice smooth texture, not too coarse. The zipper is located on the outside of the pillow case and so it does not rub against your body at all. It is just the best pillow ever and I am sure I will use it with the next baby and also in between pregnancies!

I was a bit skeptical, to be honest. I really did not think spending this much money on a pillow was a good idea, but let me tell you, it was. I'm pregnant, and up till now, I've been having hip/back pain to the point where I'm limping in the mornings. It's been 5 nights since I started sleeping with this pillow and I woke up this morning with NO pain what so ever. This pillow is a dream pillow, and I really feel bad for anyone, pregnant or not, who does not sleep with this pillow. I can't imagine sleeping with out it now. I will probably won't take it apart to use as a nursing pillow when my child is born because I don't ever want to sleep without it again.

The con: I'm tall. I'm 5'9 and my feet do not reach the end of the pillow. I like my feet supported when I'm side lying. So when I have a pillow like this that I sleep with underneath my legs, hips, belly, etc., I like it to go all the way down to my feet. It doesn't. It's fine if my knees are bent, but I sometimes like to stretch my legs all the way out, and then my feet hang off. I have had other pregnancy pillows in the past and they were all the same way. The good thing about this company (Moonlight Slumber) is that they make custom size pillows. I didn't realize that until after I ordered it. But, I suggest you go to their website and look at more information about the pillow, and if you also are tall and want your feet supported, spend a few extra bucks and get a custom sized pillow.

This pillow is worth every penny. I have slept soundly and pain free for 5 nights, and there is no price tag one can put on that. I have no regrets.

The assembly for the table was relatively easy and took less than 20 minutes. The final product is impressive. The table is more substantial and sturdier than I expected. It also has a very clean, atrractive finish to it. The table is welcomed addition to my small one-bedroom apartment and fits well with the existing bar stools I have though they are of a different wood finish. I would highly recommend this product to other potential buyers.

I was a bit skeptical about how well this item would perform even after reading the reviews. I must say I am very pleased! I'm a 52 year old woman and pride myself on being independent. I bought this chain saw for the specific purpose of cutting up small felled trees in the woods behind my house. I didn't want to mess with gas powered ones. I wanted something small enough to be almost maintenance free and easy to use with minimal kickback. Talk about perfect timing ... No sooner did it arrive than did several large branches fall from trees near my patio during a storm. I charged the battery overnight, bought and added the chain & bar oil and got busy. It is easy to operate, works wonderfully for the purposes I need it for. The largest tree I had to cut up was about 6 inches in diameter. I have used it several times and have not yet had to recharge the battery.

Freedom at last ... no more being dependent on my neighbors and friends for these type of favors!

If you are looking for power and log-cutting you should stick to a larger gas or corded model and do a little homework on what type of chainsaw meets your needs. Cordless are generally for convenience and lightweight work, NOT power. That is what this little machine gives with surprising capability. I have worked with heavy tools in construction and love a good power tool, but what I love about this is that it is so lightweight I can carry it with a couple fingers and do the whole yard without a break. It went through the base stump of a 6 inch live multi-stem shrub in an area that was too small to reach with my other power tools - it took it down in one pass from each side, left a clean edge and it didn't slow down. It went right off to cutting a live 4" branch of a tree and multiple shrub issues that were too big for loppers. It is easy to get into tight areas which allowed me to clean some old leftover branch breaks I couldn't reach before. I spent 4 hours doing this work and the battery was still going strong (keep in mind stops between branches). I'm nearing 60 and if I had a full size chainsaw, the weight would have had me worn out at the first stump. I got a lot more done this way. I found any pressure on it slowed it down, so I had to retrain myself and not expect it to be as powerful as a huge gas chainsaw. It still worked quite quickly and took slightly longer to cut but with so little effort. I had plenty of energy left to get to a lot of unfinished trimming. I love this lightweight machine and consider it one of my best and most useful tool purchases! The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I expect it to have a shorter life than I would like - although it seems solidly made, it is still made with lightweight materials and I get rough. That is yet to be seen, however, since I've only had it a short time.

UPDATE: I've had the tool for over a year now and it works as well as when I first got it, so I upped my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I don't use it endlessly since I don't do larger branches that often, but it still zipped through large roots and easily chopped up some unwanted plants that couldn't be cut with large loppers as I cleaned out some unwanted plants this spring. I certainly got my money's worth!

I may use my Chef's knife everyday, but I use this knife every other day--more often than one would think. This isn't just a bread knife, but a heavy-duty serious serrated utility knife, the best thing to cut super-thin tomato slices or anything with a skin, like sausage.
The triple rivet handles are classic and the construction is neigh-on flawless--I look forward to having my children (currently not even a gleam in my eye) inherit these in the same condition they're in now.

I had a tree pruning job to do,where the branches were close to power lines. My terrain is uneven and I suffer from a fear of heights. One day I was in home depot looking for a manual polesaw. Right next to the manual polesaws, I saw the Remington polesaw/chainsaw. I bought it with skepticism figuring I could return it if it didn't cut the mustard. This gutsy little saw made the job much easier,and helped me get the job done in a couple hours. It is solidly made and while the saw won't bringdown a redwood,it is very powerful considering it is at the end of an 8 ft pole (try that with a 20 inch saw!)

I purchased this item about 5 years ago because I was tired of the blisters from hand sawing & lopping limbs. With over 70 trees on my lot, this polesaw has been a godsend to me. I cut right through pieces up to 8" in diameter. The only trouble I have had with it is handling it when the pole is FULLY extended. Near impossible if you are short and trying to balance on a ladder. I like another reviewer, have thrown myself off a ladder. It is very heavy when extended because the motor is on the top of the pole. But once you release the trigger the motor shuts off so I don't see his problem with a "running blade". It has a little kick back when the blade is dulling but that is to be expected with any chainsaw.
I really like that I can remove the saw from the pole and use it as a regular chainsaw and not bother my husband with small cuts or log splitting. After all the sharpenings I am due for a new chain. After 5 years...I think I got my moneys worth!

Remington 41AZ22PG983 Review by Mark Harkey (Northeast Ohio)

I have used a gas pole saw by Husqvarna in the past so I am familiar with these saws. Overall this product is decent. It doesn't cut as sweet as the Husqvarna but it gets the job done. The older reviews in this sequence are for an outdated model that they no longer sell. They fixed most of the problems that people reported below. The latest saw has a hex shaped pole so you can identify it as the latest version. I would recommend this saw for light duty sawing only.

Don't think that because this saw is electric with lots of plastic that it is light and easy to maneuver. Extended fully out it takes some strength to use. The Husqvarna is only 6 feet long and lighter, but 3 feet shorter than the longer reach of the Remington. The Husqvarna also sells for 5 times more than the cost of the Remington which makes the Remington a bargain.

What makes this saw clumsy to use is the motor location. For example, the Husqvarna has the motor located below your hands. The saw is driven by a gear internal to the pole. That feature is also its limitation, in that the length is not adjustable. With most of the weight positioned below your hands the saw is easy to manipulate. But for the Remington, the motor is at the end of the pole. That puts the balance point at the wrong end which makes it harder to maneuver when fully extended. Set to 6 feet it's not bad. Some of the battery operated pole saws put the weight at the bottom where it should be and could also be a consideration.

My only real complaint about this saw is the oiler which didn't work well. Since I'm experienced with chain saws I could see that the amount of oil feed on the chain after repeated pumping was still inadequate. I investigated this later and opened the hole a bit in the plastic oil reservoir which helped. To do this you have to take the chain off. Be careful to put the chain back on the correct way when you're finished. They are not universal with respect to direction. Always use bar chain oil and not motor oil. I had no problems with my oil cap or leakage.

Most do-it-yourselfer's don't pay enough attention to safety with these tools and the instructions included don't emphasize that enough. You should treat this tool like a gas-operated tool. I strongly suggest buying at minimum the helmet that is made by Husqvarna with the built in face shield and ear cups. Trust me even with experience my helmet has saved my head while using a pole saw. A lot of the time you stand under the branch you are cutting, and the inevitable can happen. Second and optionally, I would recommend the Husqvarna leather gloves. It helps griping the tool and protects your hands from dings and from bugs and spiders when later moving the cut pieces.

With a gas model and for serious cutting I would also recommend the chaps and safety shoes. The Remington also does not have anti-kickback protection built in like most gas model chain saws do, and it also does not have a built in chain brake when you release the trigger like most gas models do. That's why I wouldn't recommend using just the chain saw part of this for serious cutting. I say this because many will use this saw without the pole as a regular chain saw. For serious cutting, this saw doesn't even compete with a gas model chain saw for cutting through thick tree limbs, and a gas model will have all the safety features built in. Use it for what it was intended for and you should be ok.

We have a pool area with a whole bunch of Rubbermaid storage products, most a few years old or more. They've been great with no wear or fading so when we wanted to replace a non-Rubbermaid deck box we bought two of the 5f21 model.

I have to say I was disappointed to see some of the changes since my older models. One of the units left larger gaps where the modular pieces fit together, large enough that I felt water would get in. This unit also came with scratches on the front panel and was missing the plastic strips which are designed to keep the lid from exceeding 90 degrees when opened. Interestingly, the other unit assembled snuggly without any gaps.

My main gripe with the new design is the lid can no longer just snap closed to the main compartment anymore, instead just resting loose on top. There are matching loops to attach a lock, which I strongly suggest you slip something into to keep that lid on in a good wind. I can't figure out why they felt compelled to remove such a simple feature.

The short version, for those reading many reviews quickly is this; the Mint has many advantages over the Roomba on a feature for feature basis. But at the end of the day, the Roomba is the better product and picked up a LOT more pet hair.

Here's the longer version with the gory details:

Both of these are great innovations. True, the Mint is far quieter, cheaper and cooler looking than the Roomba. It is also easier/cheaper to maintain. But the Roomba gets more dust off the floor, despite the fact that the Mint can get under places Roomba can not, and Roomba returns to its base for a re-charge on it's own, as needed. The Mint just dies in place.

The guy on here who's review said that he sent his Roomba on a mission and then sent the Mint after it to discover dirt the Roomba missed, would have had the same result if he performed the experiment in reverse. I know b/c I did just that. these two devices clean differently, so any comparison is useless on that level.

However...

The high-tech navigation the Mint boasts is a couple of generations away from being the "intelligent" method it advertises. The Mint wanders outside the perimeter of the room but can not clean a large area because the cleaning cloth gets too dirty, too quickly, You can not pause its program to change the cleaning cloth. When you do, the robot "forgets" where it left off and begins to clean the same space over again after you re-engage it. The Mint also runs out charge in about 2-3 hours and requires about 7-10 hours to recharge.

The Roomba, with its "virtual wall" and bump-and-learn program is a "dumber" but ultimately better method of confining the machine to a particular space and therefore maximizing its efficiency on a single charge.

Although I returned my Mint and kept the Roobma, I will be keeping an eye on the Mint to see what the future holds. I would not rule out re-purchasing a Mint in a year or two, after they've made some improvements. It has a lot of potential.

Evolution Robotics 4200 Review by Careful Reviewer

First: notice the 5-star rating that I have given this.

I agree with all of the 5-star reviewers: this product is worth the price (have had it about 6 weeks now). I have used it on vinyl (Congoleum/linoleum) floors, tile floors and wooden floors. It works well on all of them. Time will tell more.

However, rather than repeat what others have said, I will describe some aspects that might disappoint you when/if you buy it, but these do not outweigh the benefits.

- This does NOT do a deep clean. That takes elbow grease and this, naturally, is not heavy enough to scrub that well (you wouldn't want it to be that heavy). You will have to do a deep clean first. The Mint will then maintain that clean floor. I use it about once a week.

- The designers did a generally good job, except for the week when they all took vacation at once and let the janitor decide where to put the charging port. Believe or not, these idiots put the port in a spot on the underside of the unit. You have to turn the thing upside down to plug the charger in. An automatic charging-base system would have been a much better approach than having to plug it in manually every time.

- Sweeping: does an ok job, but it would be difficult for such a device to get everything. It is more useful when cleaning (washing).

- Washing (as opposed to sweeping) battery life is about 2 hours and it takes about 45 minutes to do a 12 x 20 area having several obstacles (island, tables, multiple angle walls, etc.). This allows me to wash with a mild detergent and then do a second pass to rinse (see below).

- While the Mint senses an overhang and will not fall off, it does often stop moving and generates an error message. It's as though it gets confused and just gives up.

Tips:

The Swiffer washing rags work, but leaves a bit of a sticky residue. Water, with a little bit of Dawn dish-washing liquid (seems a little better than the Ivory) or Ivory liquid dish soap, and the Mint washing rag works better. I soak the rag in a bowl of solution and then pour a little of the solution at different spots on the floor to make sure the rag on the Mint remains wet. Following that, I use the same process, but only water to rinse any residue away, again adding water on the floor to help keep the Mint rag wet.

When you clean with many floor cleaners, including too much vinegar, the floors have a sticky residue that you will hear when you walk on it long after it's dried, and which will attract dirt, unless you rinse the floor after washing. One or two squirts of Dawn in a bowl of water is all you need for this maintenance activity. For a very soiled area, you may want to hand-clean it or pour a little of the solution on it to let it dissolve the dirt before the Mint gets to it.

I bought this gadget, on amazon through Hammacher Schlemmer because of their generous warranty and paid about $20 extra, because it had excellent reviews wherever I looked.

I have hardwood floors because I have allergies and have cats. This item is a dream come true. Now my floors have always looked excellent, but after having used the mint I did not realize how filthy they actually were. It sweeps and does an excellent job of getting hair. However, I have found that different commercial sheet products vary. I used the recyclable sheets enclosed and they were okay. But again, I have allergies, thus, I can't spend my time getting the cat hair close to my lungs (I'll end up wheezing later)in not only removing the recyclable sheets enclosed, but also cleaning them as well. I have tried the disposable:Murphy soft wipes that did not impress me. What did remarkably well were the Homelife brand (unscented) dry sweeping cloths refills they picked up so much filth I thought the mint was making dirt as I could not imagine my floors that nasty. The homelife wet sweeper cloths also were very thick and did much better than the Murphy brand soft wipes on mopping.

I had to run the mint on my floors several times before no more filth was picked up and the sheets stay white and not grimy black.

Now I run it once a day and my allergies have decreased significantly and my disposable sheets are just an off white after use. When I swept the floors weekly, I would be wheezing and having a mild asthma attack later. Instead of kicking up dirt, this mint takes care of sweeping quite efficiently.

Using this product, and getting rid of upholstery furniture(now using leather) makes me breathe much easier.

A life saver, worth every penny

I bought the Verilux as a gift for my parents, who live in the dark northern reaches of the Midwest. I'd read good things about the product and knew it had been effective for some people who suffer from SAD. After sitting near the lamp for a few hours on the day after Christmas, I found myself almost craving it. I understand that you're not supposed to feel the full effects of the product for a while, but for me, it was almost instant. If you're looking for a product that is relatively inexpensive and effective, I would highly recommend this lamp. I'm planning to purchase one of my own with my tax refund this year. I'd say the only downside would be the amount of time that is supposedly required for it to achieve its full effect (2.5 hours). I personally didn't find that amount of time necessary, but I would imagine that this would vary with the person. Highly recommended!

This bed is so adorable - our three year old LOVES it! : ) We had purchased it early for her birthday and therefore didn't set it up until well after the posted return date (our fault). We had a couple of scratches in a piece and emailed the company & even though it was past the date, they quickly sent us a replacement piece without any problem!
So excellent customer service and a very solid bed with a handy storage drawer for linens & such! : )

After buying this on 9/23/11 I finally put it on the bed and it is magnificent. A whole-bed heating pad. Just wait until the cat notices! The whole or half bed setting along with head/torso/leg zones is magnificent, works perfectly and it has a remote! : The wiring is well disguised/padded and I could barely feel it even when putting it on my bed.
I have wanted a heated mattress pad ever since I lost one in a move about 15 years ago. No more cold feet (even with socks) and cold bottom. Oh, and it has a "pre-heat" feature. Interested yet?
So, if you are on the fence about buying this, I say go for it. I think it would be a purely wonderful thing to give/receive as a holiday present!

Love our new Sunbeam Heated Electric Mattress Pad. Our favorite thing is that we can preheat it while we get ready for bed . . . no more cold sheets! We are just at the beginning of winter, but have used it daily. It is easy to install and easy to understand. The only drawback to it is that it only has one control, which is usually on the table on my side. If my husband wants to change his setting, he has to lean over me to get it.

The six zones is a great idea, but the product vision unfortunately was not realized.

1. One remote control for a large bed (Queen or King) is not convenient. Who wants to lean over (or be leaned over) their bedmate to change the settings on their side of the bed? Not me.

2. The wireless function is designed very poorly. It made the lighting in my entire upstairs flicker. I am 100% positive it was the mattress pad that caused the flicker. Plus, the product makes beeps which is also annoying.

3. It really makes no difference that the controller is wireless because this product has as many wires as the mattress pads that are not wireless. Plus, there is an additional big, ugly unit (the wireless receiver) that you have to put somewhere (under the bed).

I returned mine.

I bought one of these devices for my wife and one for my mother and both enjoy them very much. It may sound odd, but as folks get older a simple task such as opening a jar can be quite a challenge, especially for people living alone. The same is true for people of all ages who suffer from arthritis or other problems that restrict hand strength. This product is ideal for such people. We found it to work exactly as advertised. It was simple to use, required almost no effort and opened even the most difficult-to-open jars, large and small. No more banging, prying or using hot water. My 89-year-old mother had no trouble using it with only minimal explanation. And now my daughter-in-law wants to buy two more--one for her mom and one for herself. It remains to be seen if this product will survive the test of time, but so far it seems to work fine.

Well, this will open anything you can fit into it (pretty much any jar commonly used). I have used it a couple of times for wet jars rather than look for the rubber grip. I like it too. Would be wonderful for anyone with grip or strength limitations. It does take up a lot of counter space, however.

As an engineering student I scraped up my savings to purchase a decent computer this summer, and after several days of surfing and researching I decided on this one. So far I have no complaints, I've installed all of my programming software for school with ease, and they run flawlessly. I've noticed others have had problems with crashing, however I find that hard to believe as this laptop has been performing beyond expectations since the moment I opened it. One tremendous feature of this laptop that I absolutely love is the different battery settings for those nights that I'm grinding out code; on the energy saver settings it outlasted 6 hours!!!!(I fell asleep before the laptop did)

I am a little disappointed with the hard drive space of the laptop, however for the money you can't find a better deal on the market.

My husband and I bought this laptop strickly for me to do school work on, we have a desktop but I needed something a little more portable. This was not used for gaming, or any type of video streaming. I bought the Microsoft Office suite with it and that was the only thing we installed on this computer. We ran every single update it asked us to (I believe initially it was around 57 updates).

We purchased it on a Sunday, by Tuesday it crashed. We called the manufacturer and they told us how to reset the computer back to the factory settings. After that it was good until the following Tuesday. The computer had crashed again, we had earlier in the week backed up the computer so from that we restored it again. By that Friday (3 days later) the internet would not connect and if it did there was a load time of about a minute and a half. It also would not pull up any of the Microsoft Office Suites without "Not Responding".

In my opinion, the software (bloatware) was too much for the system to handle. My husband finally decided to return it to Best Buy and we then switched to a Toshiba i3 500gb laptop that is perfect. One clear sign that maybe this computer was an all around flaw for everyone is when we bought it on that Sunday and returned it a week and a half later Best Buy had already removed it from their shelves and their website so they are no longer selling this computer.

This computer is still fairly new to the market so there isn't a lot of reviews out for it. Beware of the possible troubles and ensure that there is a good return policy in place before purchasing just in case.

Pros: Easy Set-up and wireless is great. Good admin interface.

Cons: Died in less than 2 month. This in itself is not bad., but getting an RMA out of CISCO/Linksys was terible. There call center seems to be Indian, and they are determined to get all the way through their service script even if the router is dead. I wonder if CISCO pays them by the hour. Took me 58 minutes on the phone to get an RMA on a dead router. Not very cost effective considering their payout and they made me so angry I'll likely start recommending against CISCO at work. Our IT budget is somewhere north of 1.5 mil a year. Their attitude toward customers is terrible.

Other Thoughts: BTW, this is I think the only review I've taken the time to write. I've been in IT since the early 80s, and never felt strong enough either way. That's how strongly I feel about this whole thing.

The router performance is good and I'm happy with the speed/bandwidth compared to my older Linksys wireless N router. But, the USB drive connectivity for file sharing/backup has it's limitation. I have a 3 TB harddisk, but the router detects only 750 GB of the space. Chat with customer service confirmed that they have not tested this router for 3 TB capacity drive. So, it appears to be a limitation right now. Perhaps, a firmware upgrade might fix this in future. But, as of now, my rating stays at 3 stars for false/incomplete advertisement about the Product.

Antec SG-850 Review by William Peltola

I knew sticking with Antec would be in my best interest and once again, I'm not being let down. This PSU is whisper quiet, provides a ton of constant clean power to all of my devices (and I have a TON) and it looks nice and clean sitting in my case. All of my old gaming machines have Antec PSU's in them and they still work great. I know I will get a long life out of this new Signature 850 and from what I have seen thus far, I highly recommend it!

I think Antec hired the same company that does packaging for Apple to package this power supply. If what's inside the box was garbage, the packaging wouldn't matter - but this is one solid huge well built power supply.

The box - there's a black cardboard/paper sleeve. You slide that off to reveal a black box top and bottom with a yellow box in between. Take off the top and you are greeted with a black cardboard insert with a real live signed by a human being performance print out. Under that is the power supply in a double looped cardboard and foam box. Lift that box out and there's another cardboard card that covers the modular connectors. All neat, tidy, packaged with just the right amount of materials to keep this whole unit well protected.

The supply itself. This thing is so pretty, I almost want to have it on display. The black paint is beautiful. Actually I'd guess this supply would work great with the Antec Spider "enclosure". You can also feel the quality in the weight, this is a heavy PSU.

Cabling - the fundamental important cables are hard wired to the PSU. Wrapping is done with black nylon mesh where the loose ends are capped with a big plastic ring that should never come off (no wire ties, no sad crimping). Antec was smart about cable separation, so you should be able to route the wires cleanly inside your case. The built in wires are standard motherboard wires (24 pin, 4 and 8 pin); 2 PCI-e 8 pin; 3 Molex; and 3 SATA. Probably just the right number of connectors for most installs. There are 4 more modular sockets 2 for more PCI-e 8 pin connectors; and then more Molex / SATA connectors. The supply comes with additional modular cables: 2 x 3 Molex connectors; 2 x 3 SATA connectors; and 2 PCI-e connectors.

So this PSU could provide power for a ton of fans, a big old load of IDE / SATA hard drives (9 of each), and 4 video cards (or 2 that require dual PCI-e connectors). If you've read this far, you are interested in this PSU. Please do yourself a favor, and don't just take my word for the quality of this PSU; type exactly this in google and read the first link: jonnyguru antec signature 850. You will be very very happy you did that, and you will be very happy you purchased this PSU.

It fit perfectly in my Antec P182 case. And it is very quiet when running. There are fancier, flashier PSU's. Antec took the silent strong approach to this PSU.

My ReadyNAS' power supply gave up the ghost last week; I ordered the replacement power supply and within minutes my ReadyNAS was back up and running smoothly. The replacement unit simply requires the removal of exterior screws for swapping out. All I would say is that when you remove the rear cover that holds the fan unit, make sure the fan plug is firmly seated when you put the casing back together.

After 3 years of service, my ReadyNAS NV PSU gave up the ghost - as seems to commonly be the case. Apparently the failure is due to a design flaw, and Infrant used to support free replacement, but Netgear being same-old Netgear means that recall is no longer officially honored. Rumor is, if you talk to a knowledgeable rep at Netgear you can get a free replacement, but apparently even getting someone who will let you pay for a replacement is rare. For $100, its worth bypassing the headache to get at what's really important - your data. Fortunately, this PSU replacement did the trick at 1/4 the price of buying an entire replacement NV unit. As indicated, no instructions are supplied, but installation is pretty straightforward if you're handy with a screwdriver. My unit is booting up now, and seems perfectly happy.

My power supply went out on my ReadyNAS. Of course I was a couple months out of warranty. I checked online and I could have bought a cheap power supply and rewired it to work with the ReadyNAS. Since all of my data is on the NAS, I didn't want to "cheap out".

I'm glad I ordered this product. It was very easy to install and came with all the parts needed for the replacement. It was a perfect fit for the old power supply. All I needed was a screwdriver. It took about 15 minutes and my NAS booted normally.

Asus U36SD-A1 Review by Sandeep

Asus U36sd-A1, is one of the best laptops I have ever seen or felt. This piece of awesomeness is fast, sturdy and thinner than any other laptop in this category (excluding samsung which is overly priced). The solid metallic feel is great and fun to carry it around in one hand.

I decided to buy this after researching for over 2 weeks. Only competitor to this laptop worth trying is Toshiba Portege R830 series. But it has negative remarks for the cooling system they brag about but not sure how genuine the remarks are.
I have had a Toshiba before which lasted for 5 years without a glitch but it's time to try something new.

Asus, being the first in most reliable laptops (second being Toshiba), there's no chance I could avoid trying Asus this time. I bought this piece from gentechpc, configured to 6GB RAM. It has a nice little button at the top left corner which allows you to change performance modes (high performance, battery saving, entertainment mode, quiet office mode) which is a cool feature.

Optimus technology changes the graphic card access between nvidia and in house intel graphic cards, saving power. I have only heard about this feature but believe me it's really great seeing it practically.

One full charge gave me 7hrs of battery life with battery saving mode and 4hrs of battery with high performance mode. I tested Video editing (mpeg encoding) for speed, heat and noise. Encoding was fast, but it got little hotter and noise negligible. Playing 1080p videos for an hour may make it hot but compared to other laptops (macbook pro, toshiba portege which my friends own), it's less.

Chiclet Keyboard feel is great and all keys are easily accessible. You know, ctrl, end, home keys in some laptops are annoying.
Browsing is fun, can't get better than this. It has a usb3 which I never tested for video cos I think there's no receiver yet in the market. 4.8Gb/s transfer rate would definitely be good to see.

Only cons are speakers, price and optical drive but if you are willing to spend 30 bucks for external dvd/cd drive, then you are good to go. I personally go with latest tech and I think optical drive is obsolete but for blu-ray burners.
I think price is reasonable compared to its competitors (vaio, toshiba{if configured}, lenovo/thinkpad) with similar form factor.
To maintain this form factor I can imagine the placement of low powered speakers. But, the inbuilt 5.1 soundblaster card makes your headset or external speaker experience great.

All-in-all you gotta experience it! I would definitely recommend this laptop to Tech enthusiasts cos there's much to explore.

I bought this laptop from a local Microsoft Store yesterday after stumbling upon an external link Amazon gave on this page. THIS was the laptop I had been waiting 9 months for since the U36JC debut. Felt like I just had a baby.. so joyous!

Anyway, as I unveiled it, I was impressed on how THIN the body was while having an AMAZINGLY solid frame. The laptop base does not bend if you hold it at any of the corners! It definitely does not feel like cheap plastic (probably because it really IS made of lightweight metal) & has a classy satin feel to it. It has a fingerprint-repelling nano-coating seemingly all over the body too. It is also so light for having such a powerful processor + graphics card. My computer friend was right to have me wait/hold out until this came out. I was tempted with HPs, Sonys, Acers but from his repair experience on so many laptops, those were all junk! (HPs were decent in the middle but still the construction felt cheap/plastic).

Such a powerful [Sandy Bridge] processor in such a solid body with such a thin profile has finally become a dream come true. Portability without the sacrifice of quality & power.. such is the legendary motherboard manufacturer ASUS!

Asus U36SD-A1 Review by Ania

I bought this computer to carry to work with me, as a replacement for a netbook that was just getting too slow despite anything I did. Besides price and basic features/details, the weight of this computer is what sold me. I love it, and am very pleased with how light it is.
I've used it mostly to surf the web, word processing, creating presentations, etc. I have not missed a cd/dvd drive, since I have an external one already. I do find it funny that the computer asks for you to insert a disc into the cd/dvd drive to create a backup disc (since there isn't one included).

This review is intended mainly for PC users who are new to the Mac. I'm not a huge computer person, I've always had PCs, and frankly I've always thought Macs were for hippies with ponytails. I pretty much have to use a PC for my job functions, but over the last few years I've been underwhelmed by both my home and work desktop (both dells) and my home notebook (HP). I'm fed up with the windows BS - freezing for no reason, slowing down for no reason, taking forever to shutdown/startup, constantly nagging to update virus software etc. I'm ok putting up with this for my work PC, but when it was time to replace my home desktop I decided to take a look at the Mac. I'm glad I did. I went with the 2.66ghz iMac with 24" monitor and 640gig HD.

First Impressions: Coming from a Dell, the iMac was pretty damn impressive right out of the box. The single box was smaller than I expected, and Amazon packed it pretty good (important because Amazon has dropped the ball on this before on other items). The 24" screen is HUGE and looks great. Setup is a breeze - it took much longer to disconnect my PC than to set this up. Just plug it in, connect to router, connect keyboard and you are ready. No, I don't miss the gigantic bundle of wires that used to be next to my desk. I was connected and playing around with this within 5 minutes of opening the box.

Pros: Beautiful screen, fast, easy to get set up and start using. The display is impressive compared to a windows PC. No dealing with virus software nagging for updates. The Time Machine feature makes it extremely easy to back up. Great overall design w/ few wires and nice touches like 2 USB inputs on the keyboard, camera built into monitor etc.

Cons: No Bluray player option (why not?). No numeric pad on keyboard (but I can't knock them for this since it is an option if you order from Apple's website). Built in speakers in monitor are pretty weak for music (I'll upgrade). I do think the "it's so intuitive to use" hype of Macs is a bit overhyped today - I think the user interface on a windows machine is just as intuitive, albeit much less visually impressive.

Where to buy: I purchased this from Amazon and I'm glad I did, as I saved about $150 vs. the Apple store. The downside to ordering on Amazon is the apple store gives you a few choices (like a numeric pad on the keyboard and wireless mouse) that Amazon does not. I initially started to purchase this from the Apple website because I wanted the numeric keypad, but as I was checking out I noticed they slapped me with sales tax of about $100 - you normally don't pay sales tax when you buy on the internet and the vendor is out of state. When I saw that I immediately cancelled my order and purchased from Amazon (plus Amazon was a bit cheaper to begin with in addition to no sales tax). Amazon also shipped it to me faster (though I have Amazon Prime), and did a good job packaging it. If you go w/ the apple store online, pay attention to sales tax your results may vary depending on your state.

Bottom line: I'm glad I got this. It's a great alternative for a home computer which I mostly use for internet and media purposes (I won't be installing excel on this machine!). It is a bit pricey compared to a PC, but it's worth it if you appreciate the impressive design, nice asthetics, great monitor, and less headache vs. a PC.

I won't rehash what the others have said about this wonderful machine. I'll just say that I've been a PC user since the early 80's when the IBM PC first came out. I finally got fed up with Windows and the associated problems that are inherent to a PC and Windows based machine. I scrapped my PC based network for an Apple system. I purchased the 3.06 GHz 24" iMac, 2.0 GHz MacBook, 1 TB Time Capsule, Apple TV, Canopus ADVC 300 & an iPhone to replace my Blackberry. I'll be adding a 2nd iMac and MacBook Pro in the weeks to come. I would suggest buying the Logitec diNovo wireless keyboard w/numeric keypad along with the Logitech wireless MX Revolution mouse, however that's a personal preference. Also the Bose companion 5 speakers are terrific add on. I repurchased those software titles that were available in Mac format and the few software packages that I have that are Windows only, I run on the iMac in a virtual Windows environment. I'm using Fusion 2 to accomplish this. I must say Windows has never run as good as it does on the iMac. In summary, it's an expensive proposition to switch, but I feel it's well worth the cost. BTW, get the Apple Care for all your hardware purchases. Apple support is top notch. As a lifelong PC user, I found there is a learning curve as it takes some time to get familiar with the way Apple does things. You can call Apple for any question at all and they'll be happy to take however long it takes to walk you through. I've called 3 or 4 times and all the tech's I encountered were thoroughly trained and spoke perfect English. The experience at the Apple Store is top notch as well. Get hooked up with a Business Team member at The Apple Store to develop a personal relationship to further enhance the support experience. You can usually find the Apple branded products a little less expensive on the web and save the sales tax. Third party products are always less expensive on the web. The Apple Store people know this and are still happy to give you advice to help make an informed purchase decision.

Until now, I've used only PCs since the early eighties beginning with DOS and an IBM286. I was quite apprehensive about switching to Mac. After the first week, all of my concerns have vanished. Apple's video tutorials make learning simple. For new Mac users, I suggest setting aside the first few days to absorb Mac Basics 123. Thus far, there has not been an hour to pass without discovering some new and exciting feature. As far as I can tell, that joy will last for years to come. My first photo download using iPhoto was pure jubilation. Within 3 minutes, I had a superb slide show complete with my choice of music. I've used Adobe Photoshop for years. I don't believe I need it anymore. The hardest thing for me to adjust to is no backspace key, but that is a learning curve. I was worried about the small keyboard, but after one week, I would not switch back. There are thousands of positive features and too many to list here. iWORK is pure genius and brilliantly user friendly. The 24" HD screen keeps me barefooted. It knocks my socks off every time I turn it on. The speed is incredible. My initial setup incorporated the Apple Airport Extreme wireless base station and router which provides complete homegrown security. Booting up used to take 5 minutes for all the protection and security programs to run. The constant upgrades were ulcer producing. Booting up now takes about 30 seconds and most of that is waiting on the DSL modem to light up. The cooling fans on my Pent IV HP used to drown out any TV show or movie I was trying to watch. The Mac is totally silent. Not even a whisper. Instant response, too. Before buying, I spent months reading every review I could find. As a result, with my initial purchase, I ordered items like the Logitech MX1100 cordless laser mouse. I have yet to connect it because I really like the Apple Mighty Mouse. I would recommend that anyone who is switching from PC to Mac for the first time to go with the original Apple equipment first - and then upgrade later. It might save you some money. I might not even use the Logitech mouse. By lightly pressing the center roll button on the Apple Mouse, a calculator, calendar and clock instantly appear. I'm constantly using the calculator. I should have stopped already, but so many attributes keep coming to mind. The total buying experience with Amazon.Com was a pleasure. I'll close by saying with some certainty, "Once you go Mac, you'll never go back."

ORIGINAL REVIEW, Sept 2007:

I inserted the batteries in the keyboard, plugged in the USB dongle, pressed the ID buttons on both units and the keyboard was talking to my Mac Powerbook from across the room within 3 minutes of unboxing it. Voila! No control panel, no tweaky drivers.

The ergonomics of this compact and very lightweight keyboard are ideally suited for sitting on your lap on the couch in front of your HDTV. As you grasp the upper corners in both hands there is a trackball under your right thumb and a left mouse-button-equivalent under your right index finger. There's a scroll wheel under your left index finger and additional left and right mouse-button-equivalents under your left thumb. The plastic trackball feels a bit grainy but actually operates quite smoothly and I have no problem placing the cursor with near-pixel accuracy on a 1920x1080 screen from across the room. You do have to shift your hands entirely if you want to move them into typing position - in that mode the mouse buttons are not very conveniently placed.

Now for sixty bucks, don't expect the highest quality key action, or completely glitch-free operation. The scroll wheel action seems to slow way down when scrolling slowly and speed way up when moving fast - but I have to say that it does scroll any Mac OS X window that displays a scroll bar. Occasionally the trackball loses its connection to the cursor, but typing any keys on the keyboard syncs it again. The reliable range seems to be about 20 feet - beyond that it can be hit-or-miss. However, you have to give Adesso some credit for decent buid quality; while one look tells you it's clearly a budget keyboard, it does not feel cheezy or flimsy at all.

There are a number of special-purpose multimedia and application launch keys across the top of the keyboard; unfortunately, because there is no Mac-specific driver for this keyboard (it's a USB plug-and-play device) the only ones that work on the Mac OS are the speaker volume up, down and mute - which are still quite handy.

As others have noted, it's difficult to put down after sleeping your computer without inadvertently waking it up again; something inside the keyboard (probably the trackball) is VERY sensitive to jarring and you'll have to learn to place this keyboard down very carefully if you want your machine to stay asleep.

I have only about a week's experience with this unit, but so far, so good.

UPDATE November 2010:

I actually ended up with another one of these and they've been operating fairly reliably for 3 years; one is used as the primary keyboard on my Mac Pro and another as a controller for my Mac Mini HTPC. The ergonomics on these units have proved to be amazing due to the left AND right-hand mouse-buttons, trackball and scroll wheels; unless you need to type characters on the keyboard you can hold it in two hands and navigate fully around any modern GUI. As an HTPC controller it's been great with the caveat that you're basically cradling the thing in your lap while sitting on the couch - it is NOT suitable for one-handed operation.

After a couple of years of regular use the left-hand scroll-wheel on my primary unit started to flake out; opening the case and reconditioning it mechanically didn't do too much to improve the reliability, and it eventually stopped working altogether, so I swapped it with the HTPC unit. (No other functionality on the unit was affected by the scroll-wheel's failure.)

Also, on one of my units the mechanical trackball began to exhibit alot of "stiction", which made fine positioning difficult; I solved this by opening the case (8 small screws) and 1) Cleaning the gunk out, 2) removing the fabric gasket ring that was supposedly sealing the trackball unit against more incoming gunk, and 3) lubricating the ball and contact points with a SMALL amount of silicone lubricant. This made the trackball a looser fit inside its socket but made it rotate very freely and restored its fine positioning ability.

One of the things that made this keyboard feel a bit cheap is the lightweight hollow plastic trackball; I've searched for a steel ball bearing to replace it but haven't found exactly the right size.

Battery life on these units has been less than I'd hoped; however, the keyboard's sleep mechanism is quite effective and the HTPC unit has run on the same set of 4 AAs for much longer (3-4 months) than my desktop unit (~2 months), which gets alot more continuous use without sleeping.

I bought this keyboard and Before you buy I want to write pros and cons

CONS:
1. This is typical china made keyboard [...], I ordered ADESSO brand, but the packaging was completely different. The actual brand printed was X Gene. Big surprise to me.
2. It does not come with any Manual and there is hardly any info available on net.
3. My scroll mouse button stopped working in a month. ( I was thinking I will manage with arrow keys)
4. My shift keys stopped working after while.
5. One day I realized that inside of keyboard was making noise (it was fallen of internal screw that was moving inside keyboard as u shake the keyboard. When I opened this keyboard realized all the plastic used is cheap quality and screw fell of when the plastic that holds the screw cracked after using this keyboard. Lot of time u have to press hard on some keys because they don't work and end result is plastic cracking inside and screws falling off.
6. You may see some missing keystrokes if your PC /laptop is busy doing something else.
7. Keyboard is not water proof, tea spill off on this keyboard and that was end of it.

PROS:
1. if you think keys dont work at all, then press the ID button continously until the LED on USB stick lights. this actually matches RF channel on keyboard with USB receiver.
2. Use this keyboard gently if you want good life
3. Keyboards works in general, it takes 1-2 weeks to get used to it so dont give up, u actually will love it once u got used to its trackball mouse and side buttons.
4. Battery life is good and battery indicator is useful to remind you when its going to be low. it saves battery when keyboard not in use.

**EDIT -- OK, so now it is over a year later and I have bought two more of these for each bedroom. All three have worked flawlessly! I have even dropped some of the units on the carpet a few times. This is one sturdy keyboard :) A bit about the battery life: batteries usually last about 2-1/2 months. So, I decided to buy good quality rechargeables for all three keyboards. This makes life a whole lot easier.

This IS the keyboard/mouse combo to get if you have a HTPC - HANDS DOWN...

I was using a Microsoft Bluetooth Elite setup for my HTPC and got sick and tired of the keyboard loosing the connection. Sure bluetooth is 100ft radius, but it was getting rediculous. Plus the mouse was giving me wrist pain using it on a sofa. Then I decided after reading reviews on this product here to get it. Let me tell you I cannot be happier.

I would personally llike to thank the person(s) who designed this keyboard. They must have done the research on ergonomics because every button is placed well, keyboard shape/curves are optimal and trackball setup feels great. Many designers for input equipment just don't take the time to plan like this I suppose.

Well, I will keep it short although I could write a short story about how great this unit is...

PROs:
- NEVER loses connection. Huge plus! You have to wake the keyboard up after a few minutes of inactivity by pressing a button (not moving the trackball). The key press does not register on the computer (just wakes the unit up). This wakeup feature is awsome in 2 respects. First, it really saves battery life and second, it keeps from something bumping the trackball and moving the cursor.
- Every button is optimally placed. Left/right click take some getting used to. Trackwheel is awsome. Keys are not small, yet fit on such a small keyboard. Key press feels like a normal keyboard. Has essential browser and media buttons :)
- Keyboard itself is sturdy, made of good plastic, lightweight and perfect sized for HTPC environment.
- Trackball is sweet! If you get this product and find that the trackball misses a bit, don't be discouraged. My unit came with the trackball coated with a semi-slick protectant which will wear off in a day or so of movement. The mouse pointer can move as fast or slow as your thumb wants it to without missing skipping. Another HUGE plus!
- Battery life for me is 1+ month strong already. Great sign.
- Setup is quick and fully XP/Vista compatible. Plug in dongle, push ID button on keyboard, use keyboard. Done.
- RF range is about 50ft for me even through multiple walls! If you stray too far and it looses signal, as soon as you come back in range it works. NO RECONNECTING!!!

CONs:
- Wish it had a sleep button.
- No software available to track battery life.
- USB dongle is about 3in long. A bit large for dongles nowadays. Might be a problem for a laptop.

I will be buying one more of these soon for the bedroom.

Worth every penny IMO!!!
